A delta sander , sometimes also called a triangle sander, is an electric hand sander with a triangular work surface. The delta sander owes its name to the shape of the sanding plate, which is based on the Greek letter delta (Δ). It is mainly used in woodworking and restoration for processing small surfaces, edges and corners. The grinding surface works with oscillating movements, usually over 10,000 oscillations per minute.

construction

The delta sander consists of a housing and the sanding shoe. The housing serves as the motor housing and handle. The sanding pad is mounted at the front end of the housing at an angle of 90 degrees. The triangular grinding head of the delta sander can be rotated in steps of 120 degrees. Its mobility makes it a specialist for grinding work in places where other grinders can no longer reach. The sandpaper is attached to the sanding shoe with a Velcro fastener . The sandpaper is available with different grain sizes to match the delta sander. The sanding paper is perforated to match the sanding plate so that the sanding dust can be transported away into the sanding bag or vacuum cleaner during sanding .
