Demantshringurinn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Demantshringurinn (analogously diamond ring or diamond tour ) describes a travel route in northeast and northern Iceland . It is mostly known to foreign tourists under the English name The Diamond Circle . In contrast to the popular Gullni hringurinn (The Golden Circle), this route is less known. Due to the location and the distance to the capital Reykjavík , this district is less touristy. Individual travelers who undertake a complete round trip on the ring road of Iceland are happy to plan this worth seeing route.

The round trip by car takes about four hours of driving time and is around 260 kilometers long. Depending on the length of stay at the individual sights of the Demantshringurinn, you are on the road for a total of eight to ten hours. Optimal for a day tour from the ring road or from the next bigger city Akureyri .
