Demirla

The Demirla was a grain and bulk measure on the Crimean peninsula and also in Armenia .

  • Mass unit: 1 Demirla = 1/8 Bakla = 15 Oka = 45 pounds (Russian) = 1.125 pud (1 P. = 16.36 kilograms ) about 18.4 kilograms (calculated)
  • Volume: 1 Demirla = 8 yarn net (Russian)
  • Armenia: 8 demirla = 1 bakla = 147.424 kilograms

The larger volume and grain measure, the bakla, corresponded to a Cheet value for volume, the weight according to a Cheetverik or 120 oken .
