The Demirtaş Dam ( Turkish Demirtaş Barajı ) is a dam on the Ballıkaya Deresi stream, a tributary of the Nilüfer Çayı , on the northeastern outskirts of the provincial capital Bursa in the province of the same name in northwest Turkey .
It was built between 1977 and 1983 with the purpose of irrigation and the supply of industrial water . The barrier structure is a 46 m high earth-stone embankment dam. The dam volume is 1,714,000 m³. The reservoir covers an area of 1.1 km² with normal damming. The storage space is 14.5 million m³. The dam is used to irrigate an area of 1710 ha.
