The Nilüfer Çayı is a right tributary of the Simav Çayı in the northwestern Turkish province of Bursa .
The Nilüfer Çayı was called Odrysses (Latinized: Horisius ) in ancient times . The river has its source on the southern slope of the Uludağ . It flows along the southern flank in a westerly direction. Two drinking water - dams ( Nilüfer and Doganci ) dam the Nilüfer Çayı at its upper reaches. This then turns north and leaves the mountainous country. It flows through the agglomeration of Bursa in a northerly direction and later turns to the west. It passes the city named after him, Nilüfer, and runs north of Uluabat Gölü . Eventually he meets Simav Çayı, who is streaming north. The Çayı river in the Nile has a length of 203 km. The river name possibly goes back to Nilüfer Hatun , wife of the second Ottoman sultan Orhan I.
