The Nilüfer Dam ( Turkish Nilüfer Barajı ; formerly Doğancı-2 Dam ) is a dam on the upper reaches of the Nilüfer Çayı River , a right tributary of the Simav Çayı , in the Bursa Province in northwestern Turkey .
The Nilüfer Dam is located 40 km south of the city of Bursa on the southern slope of the Uludağ Mountains. It was built between 1994 and 2007 with the purpose of supplying drinking water to the Bursa metropolitan area. The barrier structure is a 74.5 m high stone embankment dam . The dam volume is 3.7 million m³. The reservoir covers an area of 1.47 km² with normal damming. The storage space is 39.5 million m³. The dam supplies 60 million m³ of drinking water a year. Downstream is the Doğancı Dam .
