Democratic Politiek Keerpunt

Democratisch Politiek Keerpunt (DPK, German: Democratic Political Turning Point) was a Dutch political party . It was created in June 2012 as a merger of Trots op Nederland (TON) and Onafhankelijke Burger Partij (OBP). Hero Brinkman temporarily represented the party in parliament and was its top candidate for the Dutch parliamentary elections in 2012 , where it was unable to win a seat. It had forty municipal council seats, won by TON in 2010, and members of the city government in Den Helder and Alkmaar . In November 2012, the merger was canceled and TON separated from Hero Brinkman.

Brinkman was a member of the Partij voor de Vrijheid parliamentary group until March 2012 . A falling out with Geert Wilders made him leave the parliamentary group. Brinkman wanted to democratize the PVV for a long time and spoke out against certain high-profile actions of the PVV. He described DPK as "right-wing liberal" in the sense of Pim Fortuyn .
