The Democratic Party ( Turkish Democrat Parti , DP for short ) was a Turkish political party of the moderate right.

In November 1992, some former members of the Democratic Party, which was banned in 1960, met at the so-called 5th Congress and re-founded the Democratic Party under the same name and emblem. It was first headed by Hayrettin Erkmen , but the most famous chairman was Aydın Menderes, the son of Adnan Menderes , who was elected third chairman from February 1994. He led the party until a traffic accident in 1996 that paralyzed him.

The re-established Democratic Party did not play a major role in Turkey's political life. The party only took part in the parliamentary elections in 1999, where it clearly failed the 10 percent hurdle with just 0.3% of the vote. On May 8, 2005, the party joined the Anavatan Partisi (Motherland Party).
