The Democratic Party of Guinea-African Democratic Collection (in French, Parti Démocratique de Guinée-Rassemblement Démocratique Africain , abbreviation PDG or PDG-RDA ) is a political party in Guinea .

history

The party was founded as a branch of the Rassemblement Démocratique Africain (RDA) in French Guinea in June 1947. On October 19, 1958, relations with the RDA, the other members who were demanding closer union with the colonial power France, deteriorated. During the regime of Sékou Touré , the PDG was the only admitted party in the newly independent country, and that under a socialist orientation. After the fall of the Touré regime in 1984, the PDG was initially dissolved.

In 1992 the PDG-RDA was re-established, this time under the leadership of El Hadj Ismael Mohamed Gassim Gushein . In the general election held on June 30, 2002 , the party won 3.4% of the popular vote and a total of 3 of 114 seats.
