Denise Ho Wan-see , also known as HOCC (born May 10, 1977 in Hong Kong ), is a Hong Kong-based cantopop singer and actress, as well as an activist for democracy and LGBT rights.

Life

In 1988, at the age of 11, Denise Ho moved with her parents from Hong Kong to Montreal . As a young woman, she began a singing career in Hong Kong, as a result of which she released several albums. She also worked as an actress in several films. In 2012, she was at the Hong Kong Pride Parade it coming out as a lesbian . On July 8, 2019, Ho addressed the United Nations Human Rights Council . She called on the United Nations (UN) and the international community to protect the people of Hong Kong from violating their freedoms and called on the United Nations to keep China away from the protesters. China has participated in kidnappings, detained activists, disqualified pro-democracy lawmakers and restricted universal suffrage, Ho said.
