Denise Hoyt
Denise R. Hoyt (* 1955 in Fresno , California ) is an American teacher and local politician.
Hoyt grew up in Seal Beach and studied at the University of Redlands which she graduated with a Masters in Administration. She then worked for a nonprofit organization before accepting an apprenticeship at Crafton Hills College in the early 1980s . She has been a resident of Yucaipa since the mid-1980s .
In 2004, Hoyt was first elected to the Yucaipa City Council and was confirmed in office in 2008 and 2012. Since 2013 she has been chairwoman of the council and thus mayor of Yucaipa. Denise Hoyt succeeded Dick Riddell who was elected 15 times in a row by his colleagues and held the office from 1998 to 2012.
