Dennis Pax

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dennis Pax was an omnibus made by the British manufacturer Dennis Brothers . It was produced in the 1950s and 1960s. From 1964 to 1968 it was built in a number of only 13 copies.

The Pax was based on the chassis of the Dennis truck of the same name. Like this one, the bus was also available in both a forward control and a long-nosed version.

In 1959, Dennis put a bus body on the chassis of the Pax. Equipped with a Perkins P6 diesel engine , the nineteen long-nosed buses were used by Kowloon Motor Bus in what was then the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong . They were phased out in the second half of the 1960s.

In 1962, a single BVD6 chassis was fitted with a bus body from Sully, Blackford & Hawkey for 30 seats. The Pax II forward control vehicle, which was produced from 1958, was built as a bus in 11 copies from 1964. The construction came from Dennis. Only two copies of the Pax V were made as buses, which were delivered with a 33-seat bus body by Dennis to the Llandudno Urban District Council in Llandudno . The vehicles built in the 1960s were all delivered to local authorities.
