Dennis Rödder (born July 27, 1979 ) in Troisdorf is a German biologist and curator of the herpetological section of the Bonn Museum Alexander Koenig (ZFMK) .

Life

Dennis Rödder grew up in Troisdorf in the Rhein-Sieg district and graduated from Heinrich Böll Gymnasium in Troisdorf in 2000. He studied biology at the University of Bonn . In 2006 he wrote his thesis on frog communities in northeastern Brazil. He then did his doctorate at the Museum Koenig with a thesis entitled How to predict the future? Climate niches and potential distributions of amphibians and reptiles in a changing climate with Wolfgang Böhme . In addition to classic works on the taxonomy and distribution of amphibians and reptiles, Rödder also publishes on topics such as niche modeling and genetic studies.

On January 1, 2011, he succeeded Wolfgang Böhme as curator in the herpetological section of the Bonn Museum Alexander Koenig.

Rödder was involved in the first description of a lizard species and eight frog species. It was the lizard species Calotes bachae . The eight species of frogs are Ameerega boehmei , Hyperolius veithi , Pristimantis guiaquinimensis , Pristimantis lucidosignatus , Pristimantis onorei , Pristimantis stegolepis , Pristimantis tepuiensis and Pristimantis yuruaniensis . Pristimantis stegolepis is now considered a synonym of Pristimantis vilarsi and Pristimantis tepuiensis seems to be a synonym of Pristimantis guiaquinimensis .

Publications

Rödder is the author of well over 100 scientific publications (as of 2013). The following is a subjective selection.
