SALAMANDRA is a specialist magazine for herpetology and terraristics that has been published in Germany since 1965 . The publisher is the German Society for Herpetology and Terrarium Science (DGHT) based in Salzhemmendorf.

history

The peer-reviewed journal appeared from 1965 (Volume 1) up to Volume 40 (2004) with articles in German and English. From volume 41 (2005) it came out exclusively in English with the addition of the German Journal of Herpetology . For this purpose, a parallel German-language edition with the title Der Salamander was published from 2005 to 2009 . SALAMANDRA has been included in Journal Citation Reports , Science Citation Index Expanded , EBSCO, Current Contents , Scopus and the SCI Impact Factor . Since 2017, SALAMANDRA has been published as a purely online magazine in electronic form only, free PDF downloads are available to everyone on the magazine's website.
