Densa Thil

Densa Thil ( Tibetan : གདན་ ས་ ཐེལ gdan sa mthil or gdan sa thel ; also: Densatil ) is the first monastery of the Phagdru Kagyü School of Tibetan Buddhism . It was founded in the second half of the 12th century by Gampopa's pupil Phagmo Drupa Dorje Gyelpo (1110–1170). Its founding year is 1158. Densa Thil is located in the Phagmodru area in Sangri County of Shannan District (Lhokha) in the south of the Tibet Autonomous Region in the People's Republic of China .

The monastery is on the list of monuments of the Tibet Autonomous Region .
