Der Altvaterbote was a magazine that appeared from 1948 to 1990. The magazine was named after Altvater , the highest mountain in the Jeseníky Mountains in the Czech Republic .

The Altvaterbote published by Albert Sauer (1911–1992) appeared six times a year. The magazine was "A Heimatwerk for those expelled from the Jeseníky Mountains, especially from the Freiwaldauer Land", as the subtitle put it.
