The German Canadier

The German Canadier (also Deutscher Canadier , German Canadian or initially Der Deutsche Canadier and Neuigkeitsbote ) is a historical German newspaper , founded by Heinrich Eby . The newspaper appeared in Canada between 1841 and 1865 . In 1851 he sold the newspaper to his brother Peter Eby , who in July 1856 sold the newspaper to another brother, Elias Eby. A year later the newspaper was sold to Dougall McDougall . In 1865 the Berliner Journal forced the publication of Der Deutsche Canadier to stop.

The German Canadier mainly dealt with religious and agricultural issues. The newspaper was aimed primarily at immigrants from German-speaking areas.
