The Hörwurm is a radio play competition for primary school students in Lower Saxony . The competition is a project by the Lower Saxony media consultancy in cooperation with the Lower Saxony media centers and the Lower Saxony community radio.

Framework

The aim of the initiators is to promote language acquisition among children in a playful way. The competition is intended to challenge linguistic creativity and encourage the use of new media . The competition entries should not exceed ten minutes.

The quality of the radio plays is measured in particular by the linguistic implementation as well as the acoustic and dramaturgical design.

The prizes are usually awarded in the categories “Class 1–2” and “Class 3–4”. The winners of first and second place in both categories will each win a digital recording device, a hearing worm as a stuffed animal and a radio play CD.

The jury is made up of two media education consultants, an editor from NDR and a representative from Radio Leinehertz 106.5 . At the end of the year, the submitted contributions are evaluated and then awarded at the beginning of the following year. The award ceremony takes place during a live broadcast in the broadcasting studio of the Leinehertz community radio in Hanover.
