The Godfather Returns (The Godfather Returns) is a 2004 published Mafia novel by Mark Winegardner , which appeared in 2006 in German. It is a sequel to Mario Puzo's novel The Godfather from 1969. Chronologically, The Godfather returns between The Godfather and the film sequel The Godfather - Part II . In 2007, the godfather's revenge followed another part, which takes place between the second part and the third part .

The book tells of the time of the Corleone family after the Second World War. Michael Corleone leads the clan and tries to increase power. The reader learns how Peter Clemenza dies and with Nick Geraci a new character is introduced who becomes the deadly enemy of the Corleones.
