The Ring of the Nibelung (Choreographic Theater)

Der Ring des Nibelungen was a two-part production of the Choreographic Theater Johann Kresnik at the Bonn Opera in 2006 and 2008. Kresnik, who was theater at the Bonn Opera from 2003 to 2008 director of the Choreographic ended with these two performance series its operations in Bonn .

Most of Kresnik's works, who is considered the founder and main representative of the choreographic theater, are based on a literary or musical model as well as the biography of the respective writer, composer or artist.

In this production it was the opera tetralogy Der Ring des Nibelungen by Richard Wagner and Richard Wagner's biography or his ambivalent political, moral and ethical mindset.

Part I: Das Rheingold / Die Walküre (2006)

The first part of Das Rheingold / Die Walküre premiered on December 12, 2006 in the Grosses Haus der Oper Bonn. There were subsequent performances in the 2006/07 season and a resumption with several subsequent performances in the 2007/08 season.

Part II: Siegfried / Götterdämmerung (2008)

The premiere of the second part followed on January 10, 2008 in the Great House of the Bonn Opera with Siegfried / Götterdämmerung . Numerous follow-up performances took place in the 2007/08 season.
