The novel reader was an Austrian monthly newspaper . It was published three times a month in Vienna from 1898 to 1903 . In the first year of publication, the novel reader's title page is relatively conservative and simple. In the following two years, from 1899 to 1900, the head section of every issue is staged with a picture of a reading man. From 1901 the title page was decorated with floral ornaments. Each edition of the novel reader contained a novel , short story or short story printed in full.
