The soul breaker

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Soulbreaker is a psychological thriller by the writer Sebastian Fitzek from 2008.

action

The book begins with an experiment led by Prof. Dr. Haberland. He asks those involved to read a patient file. The patient file is about Caspar, who is in a luxury clinic. Nobody there knows his real name or knows anything about him. He was rescued from the snow by the caretaker of the clinic, Bachmann, and is now being treated there for amnesia . For weeks the press has been reporting about the so-called “soul breaker”: He manages to break his victims psychologically, so that they are trapped in an eternal nightmare. One night, Dr. Bruck comes in as a patient and a terrible night begins. Trapped in the clinic, the patients consider Bruck to be the soul-breaker because, as they believe, he attacked the doctor Sophia. Sophia seems traumatized and can no longer communicate. Residents and employees of the clinic go in search of Bruck and an escape route. During the search, more and more memories come to Caspar that suggest that he knows Bruck. When it turns out that in truth Sophia is the soulbreaker, it is almost too late.
