The Wartturm is a periodical magazine that has been published since 1966 and is published by the Bezirksmuseum Buchen association . The eponymous title takes on Buchen’s landmark, the watch tower . From the end of 1975 to 1981 there was an interruption, and since then, Der Wartturm has been published quarterly. The magazine can be subscribed to; members of the Bezirksmuseum association receive it free of charge as part of their membership.

history

As early as October 1925, Der Wartturm appeared as a monthly supplement in the daily Buchener Volksblatt . Homeland papers for the Baden Franconia . When the Buchener Volksblatt , published by the publishing house of the Catholic Press Association in Buchen, had to be discontinued at the beginning of 1936 as the press was brought into line during the National Socialist era, the supplement Der Wartturm had come to an end. In 1984 a complete reprint of the eleven volumes was published in five volumes. The first and third episodes of Der Wartturm had a woodcut draft by Ludwig Schwerin as the title head , the second episode a watch tower based on Schwerin.
