The satirical review of the year on ZDF

The satirical annual review is a 30-minute television program that ZDF broadcasts every year around the middle of December. The first edition ran in 2004, at that time under the title The great year . The most important political and social issues of the past year are shown and satirically commented on.

Authors

The authors of the satirical annual review are Werner Martin Doyé and Andreas Wiemers .

Werner Doyé and Andreas Wiemers are the inventors and makers of the satire column “ Great! ". It is always broadcast at the end of the weekly political magazine Frontal21 on ZDF. Doyé and Wiemers also provide satirical contributions for other ZDF programs. For example the “World Cup section that has no name where” during coverage of the 2006 World Cup and “Turin's sounding newsreel” during the 2006 Winter Olympics on ZDF Sport extra , or for the culture magazine aspekte .

With the annual review, Doyé and Wiemers were nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize in 2009 and 2017 . So far they have received a total of 6 nominations for this award for their formats.

Audience ratings

The edition of “Der satirische Jahresrückblick”, broadcast on December 15, 2017 at 11:15 pm, achieved an audience rating of 15.2 percent, that is 2.65 million viewers.
