The leaning tower was a children's show in the Austrian children's program Confetti TiVi of ORF , the Saturday 19 February 2005 in ORF 1 ran until 12 September, 2008.

The program was moderated by Erich Schleyer and children. The young viewers will be presented with three children's and young people's books - the range of books presented is large, ranging from classics and bestsellers to new publications. The book sets can be won the following week by taking part in the weekly competition. Sending in is usually something creative: the children are asked to illustrate stories, create new words or write an essay on a controversial topic. The title " The Leaning Tower " refers to the often-cited poor results of the PISA study : the program is intended to encourage reading pleasure and promote books. A similar mission for bookworms is the book stacks cross read with Marc Langenbeck in the children's channel KI.KA .

The control room

The shooting took place in the film city of Vienna . The three participating children are given a “homework” before the show: the four books that are presented are shared between two children, and one, called “Senfgeber” in the insider area, has to read the same book as the presenter Erich. He is also the one who introduces the so-called “viewer's favorite book”.
