Muhar the Little (full name: Muhamar Ben Hadschi Abbul Abbas Ibn Hadschi Davud Al Gossarah) lives in the oriental town of Memoluk, who sells copper jewelry, belts, seat cushions and prayer rugs in a small shop together with his young assistant Fatme.

Muhar the Great (Muhar Ben Chosro Abbul Nosrati Ibn Parviz Al Firazeh), who owns the largest shop in the street of the jewelry dealers, also lives on the same street.

Little Muhar leads a contemplative and contented life until one day “Walid the Rich” moves into the neighborhood. When he saw his daughter Yasmina in the garden, he immediately fell in love with her and asked for her hand the next day. But he is only ridiculed because he is not as rich as the great Muhar. Muhar becomes sad about this, and that only changed when a voice told him in a dream:

There is a treasure that is so precious that no one has ever seen it before. If you want to find the treasure, go to Elsada. "

He takes his horse and rides there. On the way he experiences dangerous adventures, but he does not find a treasure in Elsada. When he is completely hopelessly about to give up the search, an emir tells him about his dream, in which a voice said to him:

“Under two palm trees that write an X is a fountain. Four feet to the west of it you will find a treasure of gold and precious stones buried, as precious as no human eye has ever seen. "

He adds how nonsensical dreams are, because palms can't write an X. Now Muhar notices what the voice had said in his dream: “ Go to Elsada, then you will find treasure. "

So he immediately sets off on the dangerous way home, and at home he and Fatme find a treasure chest in his garden. When word got around, Yasmina was much more approachable to his recruiting, but now Muhar has changed his mind, as he has learned two lessons on his journey:

  1. You should believe in your dreams. "
  2. Sometimes you have to go a long way to find a treasure that's on your doorstep. "

With these words he takes Fatme in his arms.
