Baby Jail is a Swiss pop rock band inspired by the fun punk movement .

Between 1985 and 1994 she released five albums and played in numerous live performances in Switzerland, Germany and France. In 1994 the band officially broke up. In 2003 they gave a reunion concert in Zurich and released a best-of album with Auf Wiedersehen . In 2012 the band re-formed and has been touring Switzerland again since May 2012.

history

Baby Jail were founded at the end of 1985 and were first called "Bébés Phoques" (Phoques = French for seals ). The band included Boni Koller, Bice Aeberli, Peter "Pesche" Muster and Rolf Eberle. It disbanded in May 1994.

Baby Jail is best known for satirical and parodic numbers. The biggest hit in 1992 was the song "Tubel Trophy", which tells the story of a racist regulars' table prole who takes part in an adventure competition in the jungle and in the course of which disappears and is never to be seen again.

In 2012 the band reorganized and recorded a few new pieces for their reunion tour, including Must Pay and Zemäntfabrik . The documentary Baby Jail - Return of the Loudest Cabaret by Roman Wasik was made parallel to the German reunification . In 2014 the album "Greetings from the Grave" was released.

On September 18, 2015, the “Tubel Trophy” was republished as part of the Tubel Trophy campaign. This campaign for tolerance, serenity and humanity wants to "counter the increasing racism of the regulars". The sales proceeds go to the Swiss Refugee Aid .
