Lux Noise ( proper spelling Lux.-Noise or £ ûx.-NOI $ E ; LC 06804) is a Basel independent label that is divided into the areas of Lux Noise Records and Lux Noise Productions .

history

The label was founded in 1987 in Aarau near Basel by the drummer , sound engineer and band manager Michael Hediger alias "Hede". The first production of the label was a sampling - Sampler with Reto Caduff, then still in the form of a music cassette . In 1987 they recorded the first maxi single by the Basel electro-pop group Touch El Arab . The title Muhammar contained on it became a hit and sales exceeded 20,000 copies. Caduff left the label again; he is known today as a photographer and filmmaker.

With the production of the hit Tubel Trophy by Baby Jail , Hediger, who from then on operated the label solo, had the second success in the history of his label. Due to the initial success, Hediger then concentrated on lover projects, which led to financial grievances. As a result, he took Melchior Quitt from Bitch Queens and Sebastian "Baschi" Hausmann (including Lovebugs , Fucking Beautiful ) on board and the label became more successful again, since since the beginning of 2010 performers have become " collective members " and contribute to the release costs . The main selection criterion for the label is that the bands are also good live bands. The punk rock band Bitch Queens has been the flagship since the reorganization .
