Derrynablaha ruin

The rock carvings of Derrynablaha ( Irish Doire na Blátha ) are in the Kealduff Valley on the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry in Ireland , about 13 km east of the village of Sneem. These are a number of scattered outcrops of the local sandstone that were carved in rock at this location near a lake in the Bronze Age . There is also a row of stones nearby .

Table 5, with its abundance of different cup-and-ring markings, is the most important. On two of its three levels it shows cups and rings, some with many concentric rings as well as curved and straight channels.

These motifs have also been found in Neolithic passage tombs and in Bronze Age places (also outside of Ireland). The lack of nearby, older megalithic structures indicates that Derrynablaha belongs to the Early Bronze Age sites.
