The German Fistball League eV is the umbrella organization for the German fistball clubs . The DFBL organizes the games in the first and second Bundesliga.
In the heyday of the fistball league, the 1950s, finals were played in front of up to 10,000 spectators. After a dry spell, the number of members sometimes fell to less than 27,000, the association has been more popular again thanks to a restructuring that has taken place since 2004 and has been able to steadily increase its number of members.
Germany has hosted a men's fistball world championship three times , most recently in 2007 .
