The 12th men's fistball world championship took place from 6 to 12 August 2007 in Germany . The games were played in Oldenburg , Wildeshausen , Braunschweig and Stade .
background
After 1972 and 1982, Germany hosted the men's fistball world championship for the third time . The organizer of this World Cup was the Lower Saxony Gymnastics Federation . Chancellor Angela Merkel was the patron of the competition. The World Cup began on August 6, 2007 with the IFA Congress. The official opening ceremony and the first games took place on August 7, 2007.
The placement and final matches took place in the Marschweg Stadium in Oldenburg.
The defending champion was the national team of Brazil , which lost its title to the national team of Austria .
In addition to the adult competitions, there was also a children's fistball world championship camp, which was also planned and carried out by the Lower Saxony Gymnastics Federation.
Attendees

- In the preliminary round, a simple round is played in four groups (A to D) with three teams each.
- The four group winners of the preliminary round play in the intermediate round in group E, the four group thirds play in group F.
- The four runners-up in the preliminary round determine two further participants in Group E in qualifying games. The losing teams play in Group F.
- The first four of Group E play in the semi-finals.
- The fifth and sixth placed in group E play against the group first and second in group F a qualification for the game for fifth place.
- From the semi-finals onwards, a knockout round was played (loser is eliminated).
- Every place is played out.
- In the semifinals, the game for third place and the final, three sets are played. All other games are played on two winning sets.
