The 11th Men's Fistball World Championship took place from November 16 to 23, 2003 in Porto Alegre ( Brazil ). All games were played in the Sogipa Stadium . This was the second time that Brazil hosted the men's fistball world championship after 1976 .

At first 11 teams should take part in the tournament. The defending champion was the Brazilian team.

The Indian team was reportedly denied entry to Brazil. Thus a total of 10 nations took part in the world championships.

- The six winners of the 1999 World Cup in Olten played in group A in a simple round (everyone plays once against each other) from the four places for the semi-finals .
- The other four teams played two places in group B in a double round, which entitle them to relegation games against the fifth and sixth placed in group A.
- From the semi-finals onwards, a knockout round was played (loser is eliminated).
