The 15th men's fistball world championship lasted from August 11, 2019 in Winterthur , Switzerland to August 17, 2019. After 1979 and 1999, it was the third men's fistball world championship to be held in Switzerland. The German national fistball team was able to defend the title they won in Argentina in 2015 with a 4-0 final win over Austria .
Applications
Initially, three nations had expressed their interest in hosting the 15th Men's Fistball World Cup: Namibia, the USA and Switzerland. At the congress of the International Fistball Association (IFA) as part of the 14th Men's Fistball World Cup in Villa General Belgrano, Argentina on November 14, 2015, the United States and Switzerland presented themselves as a possible venue for the 2019 World Cup the Swiss application from the city of Winterthur passed.

In November 2018, the International Fistball Federation (IFA) confirmed the participation of 18 teams in the IFA Fistball Men’s World Cup 2019 from 11 to 17 August 2019 in Winterthur (Switzerland). The registered teams are:

The Schützenwiese stadium
Winterthur's candidacy for the World Cup impressed with its “All in one” concept. For the first time, all games of the Fistball World Cup will take place in one place. The Schützenwiese stadium in Winterthur is the venue for these games.
During the World Cup, the stadium was converted into a fistball arena and has a capacity of 8,000 spectators.

Four preliminary round groups were formed. The eight best-placed teams of the 2015 Fistball World Cup were assigned to groups A and B. The other World Cup participants from 2015 were placed in positions 1 and 2 of groups C and D.
While all teams in groups A and B qualify for the final round, the double elimination, from groups C and D only the two best-placed teams reach the double elimination. The six other teams compete in the President's Cup.

The Swiss television broadcast the semifinals of the Swiss team against the eventual winners and the medal games on the final day live on SRF2. Andreas Eisenring from the Schützenwiese stadium reported as commentator. He received support from Manuel Sieber, 88-time Swiss national team player, who acted as co-commentator and expert. Austrian television also broadcast the finals live on its channel ORF Sport Plus.
