The German Society for Child and Adolescent Medicine eV (DGKJ) is a scientific specialist society for child and adolescent medicine in Germany . She is a member of the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies (AWMF).
The aim is to promote scientific and professional issues in pediatric and adolescent medicine and to provide optimal outpatient and inpatient medical care for children and adolescents in Germany.
The association was founded in 1883 under the name "Society for Pediatrics". The company is based in Berlin .

Publications and work
The association's publication organ is the monthly magazine for pediatric medicine . Statements and recommendations as well as guidelines on topics of pediatric and adolescent medicine are published. Furthermore, the DGKJ is involved in the areas of further education and training and, in addition to conferences and congresses, regularly organizes revision courses and courses for prospective doctors in pediatric and youth medicine. Several prizes are awarded for scientific work in the field of pediatric and adolescent medicine.
