German Humanitarian Foundation

The German Humanitarian Foundation (DHS) is a legal foundation under private law and a private initiative for child, refugee and disaster relief with a focus on child sponsorship.

According to its own statements, it works politically and denominationally independent and has no commercial goals. The foundation is under state supervision and a member of the Federal Association of German Foundations.

The foundation was established as an association in 1991 and converted into a foundation in 1994. The foundation is based in Wiesbach (Palatinate) .

Projects

According to its own information, the foundation has fixed projects in Mexico, Georgia and the Philippines. She carries out temporary special projects, such as B. Kosovo Aid and Flood Aid 2002. The foundation has eight permanent employees. They work in Mexico, Georgia and the Philippines as well as in the project office in Germany. The foundation's facilities include its own offices in Germany, Mexico, Georgia and the Philippines.

The administrative costs of the foundation are between 15 and 18 percent, i.e. H. 83–85 percent of the donations achieve the intended purpose.
