German youth in Ukraine

The German youth in Ukraine e.V. (DJU, ukr. Німецька молодь в Україні , Russ. Немецкая молодёжь в Украине ) is a pan-Ukrainian, not commercially oriented umbrella organization of German origin young people and youth clubs in the Ukraine , based in Kiev . It represents more than 24 youth organizations of the German minority and has been headed by Oleg Finger since 2012.

aims

The DJU promotes the integration of young people of German origin in Ukraine and the development and dissemination of the German language and culture. The association supports the social, economic, cultural and intellectual interests of its members and would like to improve German-Ukrainian relations .

activities

The DJU organizes various projects to promote cultural exchange and European integration . It is supported by the German intermediary organization Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) through the Fund Society for Development (GfE) and the Ukrainian Ministry of Education. Between 2003 and 2011, 33 projects for young people were carried out with the support of GfE, including conferences, bike tours and language camps.
