German hospital society standard tariff
In the German healthcare system, the additional cost tariff of the German Hospital Society (DKG-NT) is a directory according to which outpatient services provided by hospitals are billed. This is a reimbursement system that is usually applied between two hospitals or between a hospital and a chief physician.
The catalog regulates a. the costs that a hospital can invoice another hospital or a hospital doctor authorized to liquidate after the service has been provided. The main uses are:
- Liquidation of medical consultancy services by the hospital when services are provided for inpatients with statutory health insurance from other hospitals
- Liquidation of outpatient services provided by the hospital (institute services)
- Reimbursement of costs from the chief physician to the hospital if GOÄ is the basis for the physician's fee calculation
