German coal and steel technology

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German mining technology for raw materials, energy, environment e. V. , DMT eV for short , is an association that aims to promote research, development, education and training, especially in coal mining, and the maintenance of mining cultural assets. The only operationally active company of DMT eV is the "DMT - Society for Teaching and Education mbH" with its facilities, Technical University Georg Agricola and German Mining Museum Bochum .

The DMT eV should not be confused with DMT GmbH & Co. KG, which operates as an engineering and consulting service provider.

history

The DMT eV has existed in the current constellation since 1990. The DMT eV emerged from a number of mergers:

The roots of the association go back to the year 1737 - to the establishment of the Bergamtskasse Grafschaft Mark.

  • In 1864, the Märkische trade union fund merged with the Essen-Werdenschen trade union fund to form the Westfälische Berggewerkschaftskasse (WBK). The tasks of the WBK consisted in improving mining training and research in mining with the aim of making work in mining safer. The foundation stone for this was laid by the Bochum Mountain School and the geomagnetic control room of the Bochum Mining Authority.
  • In the decades that followed, the WBK developed through its renowned research into a link between the state, universities, collieries and mining suppliers.
  • As a result of the decline in mining, the WBK established various company lines under a newly created roof in 1990 with the coal mining association, Bergbau-Forschung GmbH, the Westfälische Berggewerkschaftskasse (WBK) and the Versuchsgrubengesellschaft mbH: Deutsche Montan Technologie für Rohstoff, Energie, Umwelt eV
  • Two societies emerged within this association:
    • the DMT Society for Teaching and Education mbH, in which all training and further education centers merged and which today operates the mining museum and the Georg Agricola Technical University in Bochum and
    • the DMT-Gesellschaft für Forschung undprüfung mbH, which was integrated into the TÜV-NORD Group after several renaming and since then has operated under the name DMT GmbH & Co. KG .
