German news in Greece

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German news in Greece were from 1941 to 1944 during the occupation of Greece in World War II, a daily newspaper with editorial headquarters in Athens . The first edition appeared on April 29, a few days after the country surrendered. The majority of the edition went to soldiers and the crew.

The newspaper was amended by the conglomerate of Franz Eher publishing house belonging to Europe-Verlag published. In this, Max Amann , one of Adolf Hitler's earliest confidants, secured control of the German foreign and occupation newspapers. Other foundations such as the Deutsche Zeitung in Norway , Deutsche Zeitung in the Netherlands and the Pariser Zeitung had already preceded this .

The increasing loss of territory in the later course of the war meant that the occupation newspapers were gradually discontinued, including the Deutsche Nachrichten in 1944.
