The Deutsche Röntgengesellschaft eV (DRG) is the medical-scientific specialist society of German radiologists named after Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen .

The DRG was founded in 1905 on the initiative of the Hamburg radiologist Heinrich Albers-Schönberg . Since then, her most important activity has been the organization of the German X-ray Congress , which takes place every year on Ascension Day. Since 1926, the DRG has been publishing the specialist journal with the traditional name “ Progress in the field of X-rays and imaging processes” ( RöFo for short ). It also awards several scientific prizes, in particular the € 10,000 Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen Prize , the Röntgenring and the Albers Schönberg Medal . Together with the professional association of radiologists , it is the sponsor of the academy for advanced and advanced training in radiology , a registration and certification body for medical advanced training events .

The seat and the office are in Berlin . Currently (2006) the DRG claims to have 5,400 members. The DRG is a member of the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies (AWMF).
