In 1937 there were 115 students. The school was closed due to the Second World War in 1943. In 1947 it was reopened as the “Pestalozzi School”. Since 1955 it has been recognized by the Federal Republic of Germany as a German school abroad and is supported. Since July 20, 1957, it has been officially called the German School again. At the end of the 1960s, the premises reached their limits with over 1,000 students. On July 13, 1969, the school moved into a larger, modern building on Avenida San Martin in the Equipetrol district.
