The German Sports Economics Arena , which operated under the name Bayreuth Sports Economics Congress for five years, is one of the largest and best-known sports management conferences in Germany with around 600 managers of today and tomorrow. At the two-day event, which takes place every two years on the campus of the University of Bayreuth , a large number of renowned speakers from sports, management and science can be found. The organization is carried out on a voluntary basis by sports students from Bayreuth. The lectures, interviews and panel discussions are accompanied by an attractive supporting program. These include the exhibitor and sponsor fair, as well as workshops for students.

history

The first Bayreuth Sports Economics Congress was launched in 2003 by Klaus Zieschang at the Chair of Sports Science I at the University of Bayreuth. The congress, which takes place every two years, formed the connection between university teaching and research in the field of sport and business with current and future-oriented topics in practice. The congress was developed above all for students, graduates and experienced professionals in order to enter into an intellectual exchange and to gain new ideas together.

Aim and concept of the congress

The aim of the Deutsche Sportökonomie Arena is to provide a platform for a lively exchange of theory and practice in the areas of sport, science and business. The focus is determined by the respective congress topic, which takes up current and future social issues in various lectures and panel discussions. The central guiding principle here is to share and exchange knowledge and experience with other players in the sports market in order to develop new ideas and future prospects together. The sports business is shaped by the cooperation between the various stakeholder groups. In addition to athletes and managers, you can also find event planners, marketers, media communicators and other players in the sports business. Individual perspectives are shown, but also interfaces and connection points between them.
