The German Insurance Academy (DVA) is an educational institution in the insurance industry.

history

It was founded in 1949 in Cologne as a state-recognized higher technical school and from 1968 offered a full-time course in business administration as a "higher technical school for insurance". In 1972 DVA was administratively affiliated to the Employers' Association of Insurance Companies in Germany (agv), in 1989 it was run under the joint management of the Vocational Training Center of the German Insurance Industry (BWV) and in 1995 as its division. In 2001 the DVA became a subsidiary of the branch associations

  • Association of the German Insurance Industry (GDV)

spun off. The DVA has the task of further training the employees of the insurance industry. The DVA covers its costs within the framework of the educational policy requirements of its shareholders. The DVA is a member of the insurance industry education network .
