German youth swimming pass

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German youth swimming pass was a three-stage qualification in swimming . The tests for the swimming badges could be taken by young people up to the age of 18. The German Youth Swimming Pass was developed by the German Life Rescue Society (DLRG) and in 1978 replaced the free swimmer badge, speed swimmer badge and youth swimming license (documented in the youth swimming pass) that had previously been valid in the Federal Republic of Germany . Later the youth swimming pass was also issued in the new federal states .

The examination performances were laid down in the German Swimming / Lifeguarding Examination Regulations. These are published by the swimming associations involved in the Federal Association for the Promotion of Swimming Education (BFS). The completed achievements were certified in the German Youth Swimming Pass by authorized examiners.

In the new examination regulations valid from January 1, 2020, there is no longer any separation between youth swimming badges and swimming badges. Regardless of age, the bronze, silver and gold swimming badges of the German swimming pass are proof of safe swimming. From the beginning of 2020, with a one-year transition period, no more youth swimming passes will be issued. The design of the three previous youth swimming badges was adopted for the new general German swimming pass.
