German Lourdes Association
The German Lourdes Association e. V. is a Roman Catholic organization whose goals are to strengthen relationships between Christians in Germany and to the Marian apparitions and pilgrimage in Lourdes .
The association was founded in Cologne in 1880. Official ecclesiastical recognition as a diocesan pilgrimage center took place in 1907. According to the statutes from 1908, the aim is to enable sick and handicapped people in particular to make a pilgrimage to Lourdes in a special train with a hospital car .
The German Lourdes Association Cologne is a non-profit organization and is supported by the “The German Lourdes Foundation”.
