German Rugby League Association was an umbrella organization for the rugby league called the 13th variant of rugby, which has also been played in Germany since 2004 . The association was dissolved in March 2015.

In addition, four clubs in southern Germany (RFC Heidelberg, RFC Karlsruhe, RL Stusta Munich, RFC Bad Reichenhall) and one in Austria (RFC Salzburg) took part in a competition called Alpine League (with teams of nine).
