German Cultural Center Cluj-Napoca

The German Cultural Center Cluj-Napoca is located in the center of the city of Cluj-Napoca opposite the old main building of the Babes Bolyai University . It has been an institution sponsored by the Romanian-German Cultural Society since 1994 . The activities of the German Cultural Center in Cluj-Napoca are aimed at everyone who is interested in Germany and its importance in the European cultural area.

With exhibitions, concerts, workshops and readings, the German Cultural Center provides insights into the contemporary German cultural landscape. It mediates a cultural dialogue and promotes civil society processes.

German language courses of various levels of difficulty are offered, with the option of taking internationally recognized language exams.

The main focus of the extensive library is on German-language literature of the 20th century, reference works and specialist books from various departments, supplemented by various regularly purchased German newspapers and magazines as well as video and audio materials. The library currently has a stock of 6,000 books and various audio and video materials that can be borrowed. The game center with more than 500 German-language board games offers a comprehensive insight into the game landscape typical of Germany.

The teaching material center of the German Cultural Center supports German teachers from Cluj-Napoca and the region with various didactic materials in the design of lessons.

The reading room is equipped with funds from the Goethe-Institut Bucharest. The language and cultural work is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany . Further support is provided regularly by the Robert Bosch Stiftung and Metro AG .
