The Deutz F4L 514/4 was a tractor that Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz produced from 1952 until the start of production of the successor model F4L 514/7 in 1957. It was supposed to replace the water-cooled F3M 417 and was built accordingly powerful and with a high pulling hook force. In the type designation the essential engine parameters be specified: F ahrzeugmotor with 4 cylinder locks and L üftkühlung series 5 with a piston stroke of 14  cm. The actual model number is given after the slash.

It had an air-cooled four-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 5322 cc; the hood was split. The engine developed 60 HP (44.1 kW) and accelerated the tractor in the overdrive variant up to 26 km / h. The tractor also had a heavy-duty ZF-A-26 transmission with five forward and two reverse gears.

With its performance and size, the F4L 514/4 was the flagship among Deutz wheeled tractors at the time. The list price in 1955 was 16,950 DM and was so high that almost only large companies and contractors bought the tractor.
