Devi's case
The Devi's case , even Davis Falls called (Nepali: पातले छाँगो पाताले छाँगो, Patale Chhango) is a waterfall in Nepal . It is protected as a natural monument with the file number NP-KAS-05 .
location
The waterfall is located southwest of Pokhara in the valley of the Pardi Khola - a right tributary of the Seti Gandaki - at an altitude of about 780 m . Pokharas Airport is two kilometers to the east.
description
The river has created an impressive gorge in the limestone massif. Immediately below the waterfall it sinks for 150 m, runs underground at the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave and emerges again 500 m further south.
history
The waterfall got its name in 1961 when the Swiss couple Davi went swimming there. The woman drowned when she got into a gullet in the drain. Her body was recovered far downstream three days later. Today the place is popular with tourists and pilgrims throw coins and flowers into a symbolic sacrificial throat , which is dedicated to the deity Manakamna Bhagwatiand .
