Devil's face notes
Devil's face notes or Devil's head notes (in German: banknotes with a devil 's face or banknotes with a devil's head ) are certain banknotes of the Bank of Canada .
The notes with denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 1000 dollars from 1954 show a picture of Queen Elizabeth II. Shortly after the banknotes appeared, it was discovered that part of the structure of the hair of the Queen looked like a devil's face. As a result, the printing plates were corrected immediately, which is why the Devil's face notes are rarer than the retouched notes issued later.
